Welcome to the website!

Introduction

My name is Abby, and I’m currently a college student living in Nashville. Over this past summer, I began to discover different hobbies during my free time and realized that a common thread between most of them was fitness. I started with walking around my neighborhood in the evenings and taking in fresh air. I would listen to music or podcasts and use the time to decompress. Then, I hopped on the pickleball bandwagon and started playing with friends.

I loved learning how to play the sport, and I loved the community that came with it even more. Similarly, I started learning how to play tennis with a friend through lessons. Finally, I started running just to challenge myself. I began to look forward to these times in my week, whether I was by myself or with others. I found a true sense of joy in fitness, and I wanted to share that joy with others.

The Purpose

I’m launching Active With Abby as a medium for people to find that same joy. I know the world of health and fitness can be daunting, and there’s so many different opinions and information out there. I know there’s so many blogs, websites, influencers, etc. that it can be confusing to navigate. When I decided to prioritize my fitness, I know that I was overwhelmed by the amount of information out there. I wanted to make sure that I was doing everything the “correct” way, but even that was unclear.

My goal is to bring a bit more relatability to my brand and my content. As someone who has a simple excitement for all things fitness, I want to this website to be accessible for everyone. This means that I will have content for beginners, experienced individuals and everyone in between. I want my content to be clarity, peace and curiosity to the people reading or watching. I believe fitness shouldn’t be exclusive or look one way.

As I’ve discovered, it doesn’t have to be just lifting weights or running. It also shouldn’t be a punishment. Fitness can (and should) be fun! I want to highlight the different ways I’ve found excitement in fitness and movement. The best part is that you have the ability to be creative in the world of fitness. There are so many avenues to take and ways to diversify the way you move each day. I hope to bring those to you through my content so that you not only have ideas to implement into your own life, but you also have resources to find new communities. I’m inviting you into my own personal journey as I continue to learn; however, I also want to inspire you to find your own communities of like-minded people.

Moving Forward

You can expect two blogs a week on the website as well as a weekly email. The blogs with cover a wide range of topics such as advice columns, reviews and recommendations, different lists of places to visit, etc. You can also expect content from my social media accounts that will feature some topics discussed in the blogs as well as new, fun videos and photos. While the majority of the content will focus on physical activity and wellness, I also plan to post things like healthy recipes and even some travel themes.

Hopefully, all of this is encourages you to bring more movement into your daily life and ultimately motivates you to find joy! I am here alongside you as someone who is continuing to grow and learn! Make sure to come back to this page each week for new blogs, and subscribe to my weekly email to get news on what’s to come and also some exclusive content. If you have any recommendations or ideas for me, feel free to drop them at the user idea page. Thanks for sticking around!

Yes, I believe we’ve lost the of just trying. I’m a very average golfer hoping to get better but too often I let a bad shot steal my joy. Recently I watched a video of a starter and told ta foursome all their shots would be good and putts true. He said go ahead and fill in your scorecard now you’ll have great day. Genius.
